Frequently asked questions
How to share a Claude Code or Codex session, and which platforms and agents Sher supports.
Published · Updated
How do I share a Claude Code or Codex session?
It depends on how long the session needs to live.
For a one-off copy for one reader, the agent's own export is enough: Claude Code's /export
command, or the JSONL file Codex writes under ~/.codex/sessions.
Use Sher when the session is still running, when teammates will read it, or when it should stay
attached to the commit it produced. Running sher share uploads the session to a link that keeps
updating while the Sher daemon runs.
You choose who can open it: only you, people with access to the repository, or anyone with the link. Share sessions covers each audience.
Which platforms and agents does Sher support?
As of October 2026, Sher reads sessions from Claude Code, Codex CLI, and OMP. It runs on macOS and Linux; Get started lists the supported versions and processors.
